EVOLUTION
The musical project was born in 2016 out of passion for modern Metal genres, with the aim to express inequalities through auditory mathematics. Sounds have initially evolved from the New-Metal experience acquired with Criminal Café and from the Progressive-metalcore sonorities with Shattered Thought Patterns. While listening to Equation Error you can also spot styles like Djent, Math-Metal, Groove Metal.
MEMBERS
From the very beginning Equation Error was Jakob's solistic guitar project, which was played live with MIDI drums/synth programming and 5-stringed bass records. From 2017 to 2021 Aljoša Kalc enlarged the sound range with his custom-made 8-stringed guitar, recording the album "Chimæra". The band in 2019 enriched drastically the live experience with Gabriele Petracco on drums and Walter Dobrila (aka Wally Jezus) on bass guitar. From 2026 shred-guitarist Daniele "Bat" Maraspin joined the team!
SOUNDS
The compositions are instrumental and have the aim to find the balance between modern heavy riffs (tapping, dissonances, clusters, polyrhythmic grooves, and so on) and dreamy hypnotical melodies. Equation Error take its inspiration from bands like Animals As Leaders, Between The Buried And Me, Deftones, Dream Theater, Fellsilent, Limp Bizkit, Meshuggah, MuDvAyNe, Opeth, Plini, Porcupine Tree, SikTh, System Of A Down, Tesseract, Textures, The Dillinger Escape Plan, and so on.
